Our panelits will focus on the danger cyberthreats pose on companies as well as democratic institutions. Recent events such as the multi-day network disruption at Global Affairs Canada\, which officials have labelled a “cyber attack”\, underline the necessity of addressing this issue in greater depth. Germany’s and Canada’s transatlantic partnership and shared values offer a variety of opportunities to work on these issues.\nDue to rapid developments\, Québec and Bavaria\, as provinces/federal states in a federally organized country\, must develop their own cybersecurity strategies just like sovereign states. Therefore\, they are actively addressing this topic in various ways. For example\, the government of Québec has established a separate ministry for this portfolio.
