Panel Discussion: Tuesday, Feb 12, 14:30 – 16:00 (Doors open at 14:00); moderated by Libby Hakaraia, filmmaker and director of Māoriland Film Festival in Ōtaki, New Zealand.

EN Often Indigenous films reveal hidden heroes and unwritten history, many of the stories are very personal if not even biographical. An individual story may stand for a people. The personal is political. Indigenous directors of this year’s Berlinale NATIVe programme will give an insight into their storytelling, share their creative processes but also talk about the challenges when making their personal story accessible for a broader audience and the responsibility towards their communities.
