EN Notes to Self is an ongoing series of videos documenting a simple, repetitive act as a way to mimic our fleeting engagement with social media status updates. Fragments of text, in the form of notes from the artist to herself, are set on fire with varying degrees of success. Unlike social media updates, the fate of these updates is controlled and finite, existing only for a few seconds before being completely destroyed. The notes, which range from humorous reminders and revelations to recollections about larger societal events, are simple in both form and execution, allowing for a critical and considered viewing response.

DE Die fortlaufende Videoserie Notes to Self dokumentiert in einem simplen, repetitiven Akt unseren flüchtigen Umgang mit Status-Updates in den sozialen Medien: Erinnerungsnotizen in Form von Textfragmenten auf kleinen Zetteln werden mit wechselndem Erfolg in Brand gesteckt. Im Gegensatz zu Updates in den sozialen Medien ist das Schicksal dieser Updates kontrolliert und zeitlich begrenzt: Sie existieren nur für Sekunden, bevor sie zerstört werden. Die simple Form und Ausführung der Notizen – humoristische Gedächtnisstützen und Enthüllungen oder Erinnerungen an größere gesellschaftliche Ereignisse – ermöglichen den Zuschauer*innen einen kritischen und reflektierten Zugang.

FR Notes to Self est une série continue de vidéos représentant en un acte simple et répétitif nos rapports éphémères avec les mises à jour de statuts dans les réseaux sociaux. Des fragments de textes, sous forme de notes de l’artiste à soi-même, sont brûlés, avec plus ou moins de succès. N’existant que pour quelques secondes avant d’être complètement détruits, leur destin demeure, contrairement aux mises à jour de statuts dans les réseaux sociaux, contrôlé et limité dans le temps. Allant d’aide-mémoires humoristiques aux révélations ou souvenirs d’événements publics importants, les notes sont simples tant dans leur forme que dans leur exécution, ce qui permet aux spectateurs et spectatrices une réaction critique et réfléchie.
