Impressions from DKG Thanksgiving Lunch in Stuttgart

Thanksgiving is a time when we take a step back and remind ourselves of where we come from, who is important to us and where the path of life should take us. On Sunday 8 October 2023, members and friends of the DKG came together at Weitmann’s Waldhaus in Stuttgart to celebrate Thanksgiving together as one community. The Baden Württemberg Regional Team hosted a fine feast. Guests enjoyed a traditional Canadian Thanksgiving meal, participated in fun games and learned historical facts about the first Canadian Thanksgiving 445 years ago! Afterwards, our member Oliver Augustin provided a fascinating guided tour of the „Birkenkopf“ which offered a delightful sunset view over the city of Stuttgart. Special thanks to Melody’s Canada for donating a lovely food basket with prizes for our games and thanks to ALL guests for making this year’s event a memorable one. Bringing people together for an intercultural exchange is an important objective of the DKG. We hope to continue strengthening the relationships between our members and friends of the DKG at all of our future events.
